Notes about Children’s Wild Adventure

Most areas in Shalu have been developed for business and industry. It’s hard to see a rice paddy now. Hence, our children are very excited when they see this golden rice paddy, particularly the naughty ones. They seem to find a new space to free their inner ‘wild’ thoughts.

These children seldom have a chance to visit a farm or to experience an agricultural life, so we take the ‘wild’ children to a Miaoli Organic Farm to experience farmers’ hard work and to adventure in a real ‘wild’.

Under the direct sunshine, we saw bright smiles that hadn’t been on their faces for a long time. They threw away their shoes and found lots of apple snails, with hearts full of happiness. Not only sweat but also sincere laughs spread on the land. They were happy, satisfied, and willing to help each other. They learned that the greatest reward was not ‘to have’ but ‘to give’.

Finding the directions of hearts

A movement is unable to be engraved in languages or words. Follow the directions of hearts, and that’s all.

In a muddy rice paddy, the children went ahead one by one, step by step. Although it was difficult to keep going, all of them insisted on finishing it. Suddenly, I felt that they indeed grow up.
