Operation Framework of Tutoring

※ The mission of tutoring and the operation framework of our program

Based on the “social network” theory, we link the resources among the organizations, groups, and persons related to children’s learning in order to build a self-help and mutual-support local social network. The network includes following key members:

Family:

Children are nourished by families. Company or support can help children to cultivate their reading habit. Therefore, we use parents’ review meetings and parenting seminars to strengthen parents’ self-responsibility in education and to help their children to acquire concern and company that they deserve.

Local organization:

We invite local cohesive organizations (such as churches) to involve in our tutoring program. By local languages, they encourage parents and children to participate in our afterschool tutoring classes. When the neighborhood network is linked, the mission of tutoring has been part of their local life.

School:

First, school teachers evaluate the studies and behaviors of children from underprivileged families. Then, they transfer potential cases to us. During the tutoring period, school teachers provide information about the children’s learning at school. They also discuss the children’s studies and behaviors with our social workers and tutors in order to develop countermeasures together.

Tutor:

We select local university students and community residents to be our tutors. During the tutoring period, they concern children’s behaviors, provide emotional support, and have a close connection with co-workers for children’s conditions.

Foundation:

We position ourselves as the bridge of communication, the designer of programs or systems, and the connectors of resources. We provide professional knowledge and support to our partners, including professional social workers, education, counseling, research, publications, promotion, and so on.
